Instead of doing my normal 3 to 5 mile run that I usually do on Wednesday I threw my body a curve ball. I am able to run for long distances without much issue, but I'm not interested in that type of running anymore. So to be more effective during my races I'm adapting my training to fit my sport.
Today I added in some burpees after each 800m run. If you haven't tried it, it definitely is not an easy task, but it is a hell of a lot of fun.

Sit ups
Dynamic stretching
Run
800 meters
20 burpees
As many times as possible in 30 minutes
I did five full sets averaging 6 minutes per round. It definitely wasn't my best time, but it was good.
